Tripura government brags about road safety with photo of Sealdah overflight in Calcutta, TMC accuses of copying patterns

Tripura: In another fight between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), TMC executives asserted that “whatever Bengal thinks today, the world will think it tomorrow”.

Engaging in new controversy after Tripura’s BJP government posted photographs of Calcutta on posters of a road safety event from their official Twitter account, the TMC criticized the BJP government for allegedly copying government plans TMC.

The Tripura government took to Twitter to announce a slogan-writing contest with a cash prize of 5,000 rupees. The event poster included a photograph of Sealdah’s flight over North Kolkata.

KMC chairman Firhad Hakim said the BJP’s “twin-engine government” had failed to develop the country for which it was using footage of the work being done by the TMC government.

“What Bengal thinks today, the world thinks tomorrow. A day will come when the people of the BJP will only declare that Mamata Banerjee is the next prime minister, ”Firhad said.

However, according to the BJP, it was the fault of the “cleric” who published it.

It may be recalled that in November the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation shared photographs of Durgapur airport in West Bengal and passed it off as an airport in Uttarakhand. Likewise, Yogi Adityanath’s government used photos of Kolkata’s iconic Maa Flyover in a full-page infomercial in September to show the economic progress made by the government of Uttar Pradesh.
